The simplicity of this item is indirectly proportional to how incredibly helpful it is! You simply clip it into the latch that every car and truck door has, just to your left (when driving) and right (when riding shotgun). Wedged in this latch, this little invention becomes a handle that you can grip and really rely on when getting out of the vehicle. What a great invention. This simple little tool really is a life-saver for those who have trouble getting in and out of cars and trucks.

I know this is designed mostly for the elderly or folks with hip pain, but I got mine so my (small) children can climb in and out of the truck easier, works great for that too!

Bought this for husband who was injured last year and now needs additional leverage/help to get into and out of vehicles. It needs a U shaped hook on the Car Cane to hook over round locking mechanisms on the door jam because some vehicles don't have the U-shape hook. It works great on my car, but not his friends pick-up truck.

Part of car cane that fits into door should be much larger so that car cane would not rotate in part of door. Car cane rotates while person is trying to enter or leave car and needs a steady support while doing both.

My daughter bought this for me not long after I had hip surgery. I was not going to use the car crane but then my daughter showed me how easy it was to use. Now, I don't go any where without it!!! I love the car cane. I gave it to my mother. She uses it most of the time - when she remembers. I would recommend this product to everyone. I work at an assisted living facility and would like to buy another one for our residents to use.
